Bloomberg reported that Cognizant is deploying an agent to 350,000 employees globally, and that Air India is using Claude Code to create custom software. That’s not the footprint of an experiment. It’s the footprint of an operating model shift.
At the same time, Anthropic’s own leadership has been unusually direct about how far this can go internally. In an interview covered by Moneycontrol, Anthropic said tools powered by Claude generate almost all of its code. Even if your organization is nowhere near that level of automation, it changes expectations. Customers, competitors, and service providers will assume dramatically faster iteration is possible.
The opportunity is real, but so is the risk. The “year of agents” won’t be won by the teams with the most prompts. It will be won by the teams that build controls, clarity, and accountability into agent-driven work.
